Bistrot Des Sports
About This Spot
Stepping into Bistrot Des Sports, you immediately sense the hushed comfort of a well-loved local refuge tucked away in the heart of Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. The pace here slows just enough to invite guests to unwind, whether escaping a snowy afternoon or settling in for a long, unhurried evening. It’s a space where the rhythm of everyday life softens and warmth rises — a haven both familiar and quietly lively.
The atmosphere is quietly convivial, punctuated by friendly exchanges behind the bar and the gentle clink of glasses from nearby tables. It feels like a gathering spot where the day’s stories are shared over thoughtfully poured beers or a carefully crafted espresso martini. There’s a sense that everyone is welcomed with genuine ease, including four-legged friends who find their place among the cozy corners.
As for the food, it’s an invitation to linger. Dishes here are deeply rooted in both local tradition and a wider nod to comforting classics — rich, savory flavors that feel like a warm embrace after a day on the mountains. Expect the kind of fare that pairs beautifully with good company and slow conversation: a creamy fondue that mingles perfectly with the chill outside, or a hearty lamb shank that lingers on the palate, accompanied by simple, fresh salads or gratin that bring balance. Sweet notes arrive with understated desserts like a delicate tarte aux myrtilles or a creamy crème brûlée that closes the meal with a gentle flourish.
More than just a restaurant, Bistrot Des Sports resonates as a meeting place, where meals and moments both feel crafted with care. It’s a spot to savor quietly, to pause from the busy rhythms of the valley, and to enjoy the genuine warmth of Chamonix hospitality — all within a space that feels as inviting on a bright afternoon as it does on a wintry evening.

Such a cozy place with a lovely vibe. Super friendly staff and great service. Came for an evening drink with a friend and ended up feeling completely at home. Pet friendly

I love the food and the ambiance. Service is not too bad for a French restaurant when the place is not too busy.

Cosy restaurant to hide from the snow. Very French style, very slow paced. Tried their tartiflette as it is a dish my French friend recommended. Tastes very rich and milky. Hard for a person who likes milder or blander food but if you like rich and cheesy stuffs, you can try it. Take your time to eat in this restaurant. Take a chill pill.

Wonderful food - plenty of choice of local and regional fare & wine choices, fantastic service! They call themselves a sports bar (and there is a bar with a TV and a larger projector) but the french bistro part of it serves amazing local food. Highly recommended
